Design
RB uses an exclusive mechanical "self-locking" hardware design in M6, compared to the smaller M5 hardware used by many other manufacturers. Torqued to 110 in-lbs, the shining threads bite into the thread permanently, so there's no need to select a Loctite grade or worry about how long it will hold.

Consistent torque at temperature
The self-locking design ensures the assembly retains consistent torque during the life of the rotor at any braking temperature, without relying on adhesive that can degrade with heat cycling.

2D sliding vs. 3D floating
RB's rotor assembly uses fewer pieces of hardware (2) than a traditional surface-mount assembly (3 or more), resulting in a controlled 2D sliding movement during heat expansion and contraction, as opposed to the uncontrolled 3D "floating" movement of traditional designs. The advantage is more effective brake torque transmittal with no slippage, and no noise — as opposed to the rattling commonly associated with other "floating" rotor designs.
