CCB Break-in Procedure

RB CCB Bed-in Procedure

Carbon Ceramic rotors, unlike iron rotors, require longer bed-in time before developing an optimal performance. Less bed-in or over bed-in will affect the braking performance.

Please proceed with the following steps:

Initial Bed-In: (System warm up & engage rotors and pads together as one unit)

  • Speed: Gentle stops from 50mph (80kmh) down to 20mph (32kmh)
  • Pedal strength: ≤50%
  • Repetition: 20 times

Heavy Bed-In: (Friction layer formed between rotors and pads)

  • Speed: Heavy stops from 90mph (145kmh) down to 75mph (120kmh)
  • Gradually Increase Pedal strength: 30%→50%→80%
  • Repetition: 10 times

Cool off Bed-In: (System cool down)

  • Speed: Stop from 50mph (80kmh) down to 20mph (32kmh)
  • Maintain Pedal strength: ≤50%
  • Repetition: 20 times

When you finish all above steps, the rotor surface should look shinny which is an indication that the bed-in procedure is successfully completed. If not due to variable setups and road conditions, repeat the above steps.
